Greg & Nikki Married!

This fall marks 10 years since my very first wedding. I like to think that after a decade, this job has taught me a thing or two about what the commitment of marriage truly means. Marriage is choosing to move forward, no longer just one person, but as half of a pair. It’s the blending of two families, oftentimes very different, but always acknowledged as being the important piece of the puzzle that brought a couple to this moment in time. Values, dedication, compromise, unselfishness, meeting someone in the middle, choosing to choose “forever” well, forever. It’s the hope of the future. Hoping that when decades have passed, when the dust settles, when the ups and the downs have finally come full circle, the two of you are still there, still choosing this life, good or not so good (and sometimes really really good and sometimes really really really not so good!!). For those who want this, a wedding day is simply the beginning.

All this to say, that Nikki & Greg want it and I think everyone in their circle knows this is the case. G&N’s wedding day was not just a start, rather a continuation of a beautiful life they’ve already created. Two beautiful girls, a beautiful little family. Greg looks at Nikki with nothing short of absolute pride. He is radiating with pride for his now wife and it’s pretty cool to see. And the way Nikki laughs at Greg, well that’s just as equal as my last sentiment. Nikki & Greg got married on a perfect fall day at JPH at Ferry Hill in Marshfield. Every last detail was oozing with love, like a big hug blanketed this farm as the closest friends & family gathered.

September 28th was a true group effort so I have a few shout outs!! The bouquets & boutonnieres made by Nikki’s mom (which still blows my mind), the planning and reception space was executed by Wedding Coordinator Meghan Cullen, Catering by H Cole, and lastly to all the women who run JPH…you rock and I can’t wait to work together again soon!!

Greg & Nikki, this is so cheesy but I mean every last word!! Your day inspired me on so many different levels, and I am so happy for you both!! Wishing you many many years of days like this 🙂

Eric & Hannah Barn at Bradstreet Summer Wedding!

Simple, gorgeous, meaningful, understated, fun…the list goes on and on! There’s not too much that can adequately describe Hannah & Eric’s wedding day. There was no stress, no fuss, just pure love and a desire to celebrate everything good in life. The day started with a Hannah getting ready at the beautiful Barn at Bradstreet Farm. We moved on to a full mass in Essex that was equal parts moving and joyful. Hannah & Eric read private vows in a quiet spot at the farm and then it was time to party with a ridiculous set from Hot Mess Boston! The night ended with H&E singing a song together to honor someone very near and dear, and it’s a moment I will remember forever. Hannah & Eric, you guys are just so awesome and I am just so honored to tell your wedding story!! Congratulations!!

Sweet Lady Jane Photography Family Recap 2023!

This year, of the 20+ family portrait sessions I photographed, each and every family was a returning client. I don’t think there will ever be words to express the gratitude that comes with the support of this small business of mine. Ten years have passed since my first paid session, and the faces that chose me then are still choosing me now. For what it’s worth, I hope each of you know that with every email, every session scheduled, every new baby, every new milestone, every year that passes my appreciation grows right alongside the beautiful families you are raising. There is truly nothing better than being able to capture this crazy ride, to stay in touch through all the best times, and to be there for you when life isn’t exactly as planned. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you. And cheers to a new year!

2023: Sweet Lady Jane Photography Year in Review!

2023 was my ninth year photographing weddings and there are days where I feel like my career has just begun. Doing this yearly recap is something that has always been a favorite task of mine. As the months go by, getting caught up in the chaos of weddings can be easy to do. Choosing the images to share when there have been thousands upon thousands taken, on the other hand, can be impossible. This year was no exception!! Looking through my hard drives, my eyes started to cross trying to organize a way to share SO MANY pictures that I love for one reason or another. And then a theme started taking shape. Joy. So much joy! My couples this year truly exemplified this and then some. Sixteen times, I left a packed dance floor after a day filled with love with a huge smile on my face (and usually a cupcake in hand!) Sixteen times, I drove home feeling inspired by the families and friends who graced my camera. From weddings where two cultures collided in a perfect way, to two men taking the leap after ten years together, to standing by each other after losing a loved one, to a Cali couple who made me cry at least 20 times over the course of 8 hours, to celebrating a new marriage and a brand new pregnancy all at the same time, to dogs as bridesmaids, engagements on boats, perfect pink sunsets and champagne, cake pops as a favor (more of this please!), and every last detail in between….I simply loved it all.

To all my 2023 couples. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Each of you made me a better photographer in one way or another this year and I appreciate you trusting me with your most important day. And to the class of 2024: LET’S GO!! I can’t wait to get started!!

As a side note: I chose a lot of candids for this post! My instagram is another great spot to see a wide range of my portfolio: https://www.instagram.com/sweetladyjanephoto/
