Jesús & Emily: Married!

There are certain cases when I start the task of writing a blog post and find myself totally stuck. The trouble lies in what to say when a family is warm, welcoming, and kind beyond words. The trouble is there when trying to choose the correct images to highlight when there are SO many to choose from. And the trouble most certainly pops up when you have a couple who truly reflect the tenants of what a new marriage should look like..mutual respect and steadfast devotion (and not to mention being totally, undeniably, head-over-heels in love with one another). Well you have probably guessed by now that this was the case with Emily and Jesús. Here I sit, with so many thoughts in my head, trying to decide how best to say them. Being able to photograph Emily and Jesús’ wedding was such a treat. It’s as simple as that. Not only because the Hawthorne Hotel looked absolutely stunning with the gold, green, and white touches carefully selected, but because of the excitement and joy in the air. I love capturing a love story, delivering a gallery, and knowing that the images are just the beginning. Emily and Jesús..you are an inspiration. Thank you for trusting me with your story and congratulations once again!!

Choul & Jackie: Engaged!

During Choul and Jackie’s engagement session, in the early morning hours in Harvard Square, I was in the best mood. Maybe it was the beautiful Spring weather and flowers bursting everywhere, maybe it was the fact that the city streets were almost empty as we began, or perhaps it could be the hidden gem of a location that Jackie suggested (an old historic home with gardens galore). As I drove home smiling from ear to ear, it was clear that the source of my happiness came from spending time with Choul and Jackie. We had met once before when Choul was a groomsmen in his good friend’s wedding. I remember thinking to myself that there would come a time when this young couple would also be planning to say “I do.” Fast forward almost three years, and here we are! Choul and Jackie are the kind of people who make it so effortlessly easy to be in their company. They are full of fun stories and were up for anything as we walked around Cambridge. What is also very clear is their love and commitment to each other. It’s almost as if they are already married and have spent a lifetime together. I am so looking forward to their October wedding day and I am thrilled to share a small sneak peek of their engagement session!

John & Sarah: Married!

There are certain times in this job of mine where I truly understand the gravity of the task at hand. Yes, my goal is to capture each moment in a way that makes my clients smile. To reflect my creative side. To compile a perfect gallery full of the faces that make two families combine into one. But there is just so much more than this. Wedding pictures are a treasure that breathe life long after the last song is played. They are a legacy for generations to come. An eventual memory of those we so desperately long to remember. John and Sarah are perhaps the prime example of why I love what I do. These two have been together for nearly ten years, and have experienced so much over the course of the last decade. They have weathered the storm of loss and come out on the other side even stronger in love than when they began. They are a true team-and for that reason, John and Sarah’s day was simply something special. There were many moments of heartfelt tears, and an overwhelming feeling of abundant joy. For both families, April 7th represented a day that was nothing short of meant to be. There is no doubt in my mind that John and Sarah will be showing their children (and their children’s children) these images thirty plus years from now, reminiscing on a lifetime of happy memories. John and Sarah…what an honor it has been to know you, to photograph you, and to be even a small part of your beautiful love story. Can’t wait to see what the future has in store!!

Jay & Heather: Married!

Winter weddings will always have a special place in my heart. There is something so beautiful and calm about the season. Heather and Jay’s day was brilliantly sunny, and cold. Freezing cold…about negative twenty to be exact! But it didn’t feel that way. There was a warmth that surrounded us from the moment I stepped into the Beauport Hotel. For Jay and Heather, this day was the culmination of sorts for the adorable family they have created. Each moment was rooted in what is most important which made the day even more meaningful. I loved all the details Heather and Jay picked out…from the beautiful ivory BHLDN dress, to Heather’s sparkly bouquet, and on to the ceremony covered in candlelight. I am so excited to share just a small sneak peek from this amazing day (which includes a set outside in the blistering cold!) and wish Heather and Jay all the happiness in the world!
