2018: Sweet Lady Jane Photography Family, Newborn, and Weddings in Review!

This year end blog post has become one of my favorite things to do (take a trip back to 2016 and 2017 to see what I mean!). Looking through thousands of images not only gives me the opportunity to relive the moments that meant so much, but it also brings forth a feeling of immense gratitude. Every first look, first kiss, first baby, first dance, and first step still feels like the first for me. 2018 was a memorable year. I moved into a studio space downtown and smile from ear to ear whenever my day includes one at the office. Weddings kept me busy as I traveled to unique places (The Berkshires and Florida) and also to favorites from the past. My families kept me busier than ever before. Sweet Lady Jane Photography saw a huge baby boom this year, with maternity and newborn sessions galore! What a joy it has been to see my brides and grooms become moms and dads. There is nothing better than sharing this journey with each of you and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

In a world filled with a barrage of glitzy, trendy, instant insta-content some days can feel like a challenge. Days when a little voice in the deepest corner of my mind can wonder-Am I good enough? Does my authentic voice count for anything? Does my vision shine through? And then there is a day like today. Looking through 12,702 images (to be exact!) and not hearing one question. A day when there are only answers. Answers in every single laugh out loud smile, in the tears of nervous joy, in a father seeing his daughter as a bride for the first time, in the toothless smile of a six year old child, in the quiet calm of a nursery as new parents marvel at their miracle. In every toast, selfie, and floss out on the dance floor. This, my friends, is the good stuff and it’s the stuff that will keep me coming back for more year after year. Questions or not…I simply love doing what I do and getting to do it with you.

To my brides and grooms and to all my families. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for choosing me to document the best of times. I am overwhelmed and humbled.

And to my 2019 couples…woo hoo!! We are in the home stretch! It’s almost here and my heart and head are so ready to capture all the fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

Ryan & Shannon: Engaged!

Shannon and Ryan. Where do I even begin?? I had the pleasure of meeting Shannon when she was a bridesmaid in Sarah’s beautiful Cape Cod wedding this summer. She took her duties so seriously…always offering to help both me and her good friend, and had a smile on her face from beginning to end. You can imagine my excitement when Shannon emailed to say that she was engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Ryan…and even more thrilled when they picked me to photograph their big day!! During our time together in Salem on a cold November day, my positive thoughts on both Shannon and Ryan were confirmed. They are both happy, upbeat, and easy going people who are genuinely fun to be around. I swear I could share every single image from our time together…each one reflects the joy they have to be engaged!! But for now, here is just a small sneak peek ๐Ÿ™‚ Can’t wait for next September you guys..you are seriously the best!

Choul & Jackie: Married!

When you think of the most important aspects in life, you most likely think of the love of family and friends. When I think of Choul and Jackie, the first thing that comes to mind is just this. They place value where value should be placed and truly put family and friends before anything else. So it goes without saying that Choul and Jackie’s wedding day at the Wayside Inn was an honor to witness. Each moment was filled with joy…from the first look in front of the Martha-Mary Church, to the light filled ceremony, and on to the reception complete with beautiful fall details. The toasts pointed to two people who are genuine and kind, not to mention perfect for each other. This was my last wedding of the 2018 season and I can’t think of a better way to end another amazing year. Choul and Jackie, thank you for trusting me with your day. When I think of October 14th, I will always do so with a huge smile on my face. Wishing you a lifetime of love!

7 Days New: Boston Newborn Session

This sweet family is everything I love about a newborn session. Two parents who are head over heels in love with their new baby girl, who want to capture her just the way she was at one week old. These images aren’t overly posed. They don’t include any fancy props. But the emotion behind each one is undeniable. Looking at the expressions reveals a feeling of true joy and pride. The real and raw experience of becoming a family of three and all the overwhelming love that follows….this is my favorite kind of newborn session. I was so beyond happy to be able to capture each little smile and sigh for this amazing little family! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for sweet baby A ๐Ÿ™‚
