One of the things I love most about photographing people is the chance to catch a glimpse into the unique places that mean something for one reason or another. For Alyssa and Paul, the place is Little Neck in Ipswich and the special ties are almost innumerable. Paul and his family have spent summers here for generations…neighbors have became close friends and the beach a way of life. When Alyssa and Paul met in college, her love for this amazing spot grew along with her relationship. A proposal by the shore was soon to follow, and an engagement session planned! We were so lucky to have the most beautiful light and I think you can agree that Little Neck is just as magical in the winter.

Alyssa and Paul..thank you for inviting me in to your favorite “little” spot. And a big thank you for being such good sports-braving the cold and allowing me to direct you through snow drifts far and wide! Your wedding early next year will be here before we know it…winter certainly suits you both:)

Wildcat Mountain holds very special meaning to Amy and Dave. After dating for years, these two made the trek up to New Hampshire for what Amy thought was the celebration of the mountains 80th anniversary. Little did she know that Dave was planning to propose the same day. After happily saying yes, choosing a location for an engagement session was a no-brainer. I was honored to capture these two as they hit the slopes together (being behind a camera and on a ski mountain is pretty much as good as it gets for me!). Amy and Dave are kind, easy going people who truly deserve each other. They make you feel at ease in an instant. Case and point: while we were in the lodge getting ready for our shoot, Dave managed to make friends with a couple sitting nearby! I can’t wait to photograph their fall wedding in Portsmouth which is sure to be a genuinely happy celebration. Amy and Dave..you guys are the best!!

It is hard to believe a time this winter without snow, but this next wedding brings me back! I had the pleasure of second shooting with Nadya in January, at the beautiful Barn at Gibbet Hill in Groton. We were able to capture a first look outside and had enough time for some dreamy portraits right before sunset. So happy to share just a few of my personal favorites from the day!

This next blog post is a doozy. I sat for some time desperately trying to put a paragraph together that would chronicle the friendship that Kerri and I’ve shared. Truth be told, there are no words that even come close. Kerri has always been my person. The one who calls me on my stuff, is willing to take my humor one step further, and who understands when I (pretend to) talk French. She knows to text me a reminder if we have plans. She listens with all her heart and always gives sound advice. Kerri has been there through it all, and now the time has finally come for her to be celebrated. Kerri met her perfect match in James…watching them together solidifies the fact that Kerri is happy and at home with her soon to be husband. They are counting down the days until their intimate March wedding in Portsmouth, NH. In the meantime, we met up for an engagement session roaming the city streets where their love story began years ago. James and Kerri…I am so thrilled for you both.
