Mo & Kelsey: Married at Bourne Farm!

I am a big believer that things happen for a reason. That places and people and moments all come together the way they are supposed to, and memories are created in the wake. Certain occasions make me feel this more than others. On the way home from Mo and Kelsey’s beautiful wedding day, I knew that the celebration I had just witnessed was a testament to a relationship that is meant to be. All week long, the weather called for rain. Not just a little drizzle, but full blown storms. As we entered into the ceremony, the skies looked like they would open up at any second. They never did. The sun decided to shine for Kelsey and Mo until the most gorgeous sunset arrived to get the party started. It was just perfect for a couple so full of light. I loved photographing each detail for a family who I have known for over a decade…a family who makes me feel so at home whenever we are together. Kelsey and Mo-thank you for choosing me to document this day!! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness and many, many more dance parties to come ๐Ÿ™‚

Alex & Kelly: Married at Smolak Farm!

Alex and Kelly were my first wedding of the 2019 season and their day was the perfect way to kick things off! When you mix an incredible location like Smolak Farm with a couple so much in love, it’s sure to be an unforgettable celebration. A few of my favorite moments were Alex and Kelly’s first look with cute pup Duncan running alongside, a butterfly release during the ceremony, s’mores for all, and a super fun party once night fell. I say this all the time, but once again I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to photograph celebrations as meaningful as this one. Alex and Kelly, you guys were seriously so much fun!! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both…

James & Heather: Engaged!

I just love Spring. A final farewell to winter as the days start getting longer and warmer and everything is new again. I also selfishly love it because it’s my chance to start engagement sessions again! Meeting with future clients throughout the winter makes way to being able to spend some real time with each couple. Heather and James are first on the list! They met up with me on a beautiful Saturday a few weeks back and brought their two amazing dogs, Wicklow and Tucker, along as well. I loved getting to know the whole crew! Heather and James are perfect for each other and their November wedding at the Oceanview in Natant is one I can’t wait to document. Congrats again you two and thanks for being so easy (and fun!) to work with!

2018: Sweet Lady Jane Photography Family, Newborn, and Weddings in Review!

This year end blog post has become one of my favorite things to do (take a trip back to 2016 and 2017 to see what I mean!). Looking through thousands of images not only gives me the opportunity to relive the moments that meant so much, but it also brings forth a feeling of immense gratitude. Every first look, first kiss, first baby, first dance, and first step still feels like the first for me. 2018 was a memorable year. I moved into a studio space downtown and smile from ear to ear whenever my day includes one at the office. Weddings kept me busy as I traveled to unique places (The Berkshires and Florida) and also to favorites from the past. My families kept me busier than ever before. Sweet Lady Jane Photography saw a huge baby boom this year, with maternity and newborn sessions galore! What a joy it has been to see my brides and grooms become moms and dads. There is nothing better than sharing this journey with each of you and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

In a world filled with a barrage of glitzy, trendy, instant insta-content some days can feel like a challenge. Days when a little voice in the deepest corner of my mind can wonder-Am I good enough? Does my authentic voice count for anything? Does my vision shine through? And then there is a day like today. Looking through 12,702 images (to be exact!) and not hearing one question. A day when there are only answers. Answers in every single laugh out loud smile, in the tears of nervous joy, in a father seeing his daughter as a bride for the first time, in the toothless smile of a six year old child, in the quiet calm of a nursery as new parents marvel at their miracle. In every toast, selfie, and floss out on the dance floor. This, my friends, is the good stuff and it’s the stuff that will keep me coming back for more year after year. Questions or not…I simply love doing what I do and getting to do it with you.

To my brides and grooms and to all my families. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for choosing me to document the best of times. I am overwhelmed and humbled.

And to my 2019 couples…woo hoo!! We are in the home stretch! It’s almost here and my heart and head are so ready to capture all the fun! ๐Ÿ™‚
