Growing up in a big family, I had a whole bunch of Uncles who seemed to get married one after another. I was always invited, and even got to be a flower girl on one occasion or another. My recollection of weddings back in the day is somewhat different than now. What I loved the most about witnessing Matt and Melissa’s wedding day was the nod to tradition that I hold so dear. The night before, a rehearsal dinner took place at the home of the bride and groom. Melissa and Matt both also got ready at home (Melissa at the house where she grew up) surrounded by friends and family. The girls did their own makeup and all helped one another in the process. After a beautiful mass, Melissa and Matt welcomed their guests in a receiving line. We headed next to the JFK library for formals and then on to the Milton Hoosic Club where the party was already in full swing. I adored watching the love in the first dance, toasts, and parent’s dances. Congratulations Matt and Melissa…thinking back on your day will always fill me with an old-school feeling of joy. Special thank you to Danielle for being my amazing second photographer!
