James and Kerri were married on the official first day of spring, surrounded by only the closest friends and family. The timing of their day is actually perfect in so many ways. Much like the way flowers start to bloom and the snow melts, Kerri and James have a relationship that is a breath of fresh air. During their ceremony, advice was passed along to be marriage role models. To live their vows and work hard on their love and to simply be together everyday. To be happier in forty years than they were on their wedding day. Knowing Kerri and James like I do, I have no doubt. These two will be old and grey and still making silly inside jokes that only they understand, laughing together through it all. Kerri and James, I enjoyed every second of your wedding day. Your family treated me like family. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness and lots of date nights!

Over the fall, I had the pleasure of second shooting with the amazingly talented team that isSummer Street Photography. Every moment of the day was enjoyable…from the sweet bride and groom, to the beautiful October sunshine, and on to every stunning detail chosen for the reception. I was instantly welcomed by Patrick and Audrey, and felt right at home with their friends and family. What a privilege it was to be asked to tag along! Here are just some of my favorite shots from the day.

As I turned the corner to greet Barbara as she prepared for her wedding day, the feeling of excitement was undeniable. Her friends and family cheerily watched as finishing touches were placed on hair and makeup. Downstairs, Mike and his crew shared the same sentiment. Excitement. Throughout the day; from the first look to the Ketuba signing and on to the ceremony and reception; this enthusiasm never died down. I suppose for a couple like Mike and Barbara, there is no other way to feel. These two are both intelligent and hard working but equally humble and down to earth. They are upbeat, share a common sarcastic wit, and could easily be deemed the life of the party. Most importantly, they share a strong love for one another. I have said it before and I will say it again…capturing their journey has been both an honor and a privilege. Special thanks to Lisa for helping me photograph every (gorgeous!) detail!

One of the things I love most about photographing people is the chance to catch a glimpse into the unique places that mean something for one reason or another. For Alyssa and Paul, the place is Little Neck in Ipswich and the special ties are almost innumerable. Paul and his family have spent summers here for generations…neighbors have became close friends and the beach a way of life. When Alyssa and Paul met in college, her love for this amazing spot grew along with her relationship. A proposal by the shore was soon to follow, and an engagement session planned! We were so lucky to have the most beautiful light and I think you can agree that Little Neck is just as magical in the winter.

Alyssa and Paul..thank you for inviting me in to your favorite “little” spot. And a big thank you for being such good sports-braving the cold and allowing me to direct you through snow drifts far and wide! Your wedding early next year will be here before we know it…winter certainly suits you both:)
