Wakefield Family Session!

Back in the day, I would jump at any and every opportunity to babysit my (numerous!) younger cousins. Watching them was a job that I loved, felt proud to do, and took very seriously. My Auntie Jen and Uncle Ed would let me and my sister come over every once and a while to watch Matt and Joe…brothers who are a little over a year apart. Even though I was young myself, it was very clear then that Jen was an unbelievable mother who was raising two respectful, thoughtful, kind, smart boys. Fast forward almost two decades later (yikes!) and I now know that Jen and Ed were successful in their parenting. What’s more, they are role models to me and my husband as we navigate life with two boys, fifteen months apart. Jen and Ed have the somewhat overwhelming task of watching Matt enter his next phase as a college freshman, with Joe close behind. To mark the occasion, we got together for a session in late summer. Proud doesn’t even begin to cover how it feels to witness the two little boys that I used to watch swim in my Gram’s pool, eat funfetti cake during birthday parties, and sing along to the latest song on the radio (Wooo hoooo!) now grown into young men who are undoubtedly going places.

Thank you for letting me capture these images~what a moment in time to cherish. I can’t wait to see what the next phase brings!

Zack & Julia: Married!

Another day, another awesome Boston elopement to share! Zack and Julia have many exciting things to celebrate this year…a new house, a new baby (coming very soon!), and now a wedding to top it all off. This session was somewhat of an early wedding gift from Julia’s family. In the days leading up to the ceremony, Julia’s mom and sister shared back and forth emails with me, explaining just how special Zack and Julia are as a couple, what their style is, and basically what makes them tick. Using some quick thinking, we were able to coordinate a little surprise after the ceremony. The Ames Hotel was gracious enough to allow us to use a room for a little celebration (including cake, of course). Nicole, the wedding coordinator, made it all happen, and I can’t say enough good things about her and her team. The images from the “after party” are some of my favorites…Julia and Zack look pretty glamorous if you ask me!

Julia & Zack…your little baby boy is already so lucky…You and your family are so thoughtful and care so much about each other. I wish you all the best in the weeks to come!

Boston Family Session!

Anyone with toddlers knows just how easy it is to have them sit perfectly still, smile for the camera, and repeat. Pretty close to impossible. My next family has not one, but two toddlers, exactly a year apart. I was beyond thrilled when Mom and Dad suggested that we meet at a park and let the girls run and play, all while capturing a beautiful family memory…Grandparents and Uncle included! We were even able to snap a few formal pictures in between swinging and sliding:) Sisters R&R are just so sweet and happy, I can’t help but smile every time I see their faces!
